Position Summary: Provide one-on-one and small group assistance to students with special needs.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to relate to all children regardless of needs and/or abilities
- Possess collaborative and interpersonal skills
Successful completion of a criminal background check and physical capacity profile test will be required upon offer.

PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
- Assists in the supervision of students in the classroom and other areas of the school facility. This may include:
- Bus arrival/dismissal
- Lunch and/or recess
- School related activities/field trips during contracted hours
- Emergency drills/situations
- Assists staff in preparation of materials. This may include:
- Reproducing and preparing materials and equipment used in the classroom
- Correcting papers, workbooks, and tests
- Creating and preparing materials for bulletin boards
- Works with group or individual students in the daily routine of the classroom under the teacher’s direction. May include:
- Assisting teacher with classroom management and/or implementation of behavioral management plan(s)
- Assisting students with homework, tests, and/or seat work
- Assisting students with technology (audio visual, computer, adaptive educational equipment)
- Maintaining records for individual students
- Reports relevant matters to the building administrator(s) or designee
- Keeps teacher(s) informed of all relevant student-related matters
- Assists the office staff when needed
- Records attendance and lunch count at the beginning of each kindergarten class and reports information to the office
- Assists in the integration of special education students in the regular classroom
- Assists any student as need arises or as requested
- Provides relevant/requested information for development and implementation of IEP’s for individual students
- Maintains working knowledge and use of available technology
- Maintains appropriate health and safety standards
- Duties and responsibilities as requested by supervisor may vary from time to time
