Position Summary: Teach American Red Cross swim lessons.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching swimming techniques, swimming strokes, and water safety rules to students with varying swimming abilities.
- Assisting more experienced swimmers to enhance their swimming abilities.
- Assessing the progress of students and adjusting teaching programs accordingly.
- Monitoring students to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Implementing ground rules for each swim session.
- Planning swimming lessons that take into account students’ abilities and progressive development.
- Identifying incorrect swimming techniques and correcting students accordingly.
- Keeping work area clean and prepared for class.
- Attend all assigned meetings and in-services.
- Perform other such duties and function as are necessary or incidental to the proper performance of this position.
Experience:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR-PR preferred.
- American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor preferred.
Schedule:
- Evenings
- Weekends
- Day-time hours (Summer)
- Part-time, hours will vary
Pay Rate
- Starting $14.00/hr, increases with experience
