POSITION SUMMARY: Assist and support music staff in the education of children
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Proficient in playing piano accompaniments
- Proficient in sight-reading choral parts
- Ability to work flexible hours
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Professional Performance Criteria
- Accompany vocal music ensembles on the piano for both rehearsals and performances.
- Record accompaniments.
- Assists in the supervision of students in the classroom and other areas of the school facility. This may include:
- concerts / performances
- school related activities during contracted hours
- emergency drills/situations
- Assists staff in preparation of materials. This may include:
- recording accompaniments
- reproducing and preparing materials and equipment used in the classroom
- Works with group or individual students in the daily routine of the classroom under the teacher’s direction. This may include:
- assisting teacher with classroom management and/or implementation of behavioral management plan(s)
- Keeps teacher/administrator informed of all relevant student-related matters.
- Maintains working knowledge and use of available technology.
- Provides assistance to any student as need arises or as requested.
- Assists in the integration of special education students in the regular classroom.
- Other duties and responsibilities as requested by supervisor.
