Position Summary

  • Responsible for the supervision of assigned Community Education program or event.
  • Serves as the point of contact and Community Education representative for participants at the program or event site.
  • Monitors the physical condition and security of facilities used for program or event.
  • Proactively problem-solves any issues that arise during the program or event.

Qualifications, Certifications and Experience

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • CPR/First Aid preferred

Performance Criteria
Professional

  • Supervise assigned Community Education program or event.
  • Actively monitor and interact with participants, staff, volunteers, and spectators.
  • Know, deliver, and enforce program or event rules or procedures to ensure a safe and quality experience.
  • Proactively problem-solve any issues that arise during the program or event.
  • Enforce rules and regulations of Johnston Community Education and Johnston Community School District in order to
  • maintain discipline and ensure safety.
  • Serve as the point of contact and Community Education representative at the program or event site.
  • Employ functional knowledge of emergency and security procedures.
  • Monitor the condition and security of facility, space and equipment used for programs and events. Return space and
  • equipment to desired condition as directed by supervisor.
  • Communicate with your direct supervisor. Report any issues or concerns immediately.
  • Know the location of cleaning supplies and employ as needed.
  • Attend program or event specific trainings as directed by supervisor.
  • Respond to any incidents that arise with care. Complete necessary documentation.
  • Manage secure collection and record keeping of participant fees when necessary.

  • Follow and enforce district/department/program policies and procedures.

  • actions.
  • Communicate effectively both in writing and orally through clear speaking and listening skills.
  • Possess appropriate levels of enthusiasm, sense of humor, and patience.
  • Control their setting as needed to ensure quality program implementation.
  • Focus on their environment, anticipating and understanding protocol in regards to safety of participants.
  • Provide instruction/leadership/management of program implementation related to specific job responsibilities.
  • Perform light to moderate manual labor to assist with implementation of program.
  • Demonstrate ability to grasp and adjust to new and changing situations.

General

  • Work location will be assigned as needed.
  • Work days/hours may vary depending upon program needs.
  • Primary location is Johnston Community School District facilities and program-specific.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or higher-level leadership.
  • Performance evaluation conducted by direct supervisor.
